Reimaging Xianity in the wake of Modernism's passing
The Return to a Primitive Christianity is Impossible.

This is a great temptation. We all want to go back to 40AD and how people were teaching and preaching… we want to be authentic etc.

And the Holy Spirit and the Wisdom of the Elders!
But yeah, it would be nice to get back to that glorious day of yesteryear.
But, if you think about it, we have so many new situations, ones that they did not have to deal with. A so-called pure theology would still have to be adapted to our new situation.
Best example I can think of is how to be Christian in a land of mostly Christians. How in the heck do we have power in a nation with the most power in the history of humankind?
We know how to act and be when we are marginalized, but bring on top (whether we like it or not) brings new questions, ones we haven’t gotten right yet.
