Came across this quote as I was reading this morning: Discovery often amounts, as when I place a piece in a jigsaw puzzle, not to arrival at a proposition for declaration or defense, but to finding a fit. - Nelson Goodman Thus is the nature of scholarship. The scholar seeks to understand the world as it is, not to build impenetrable edifices to contain it.
