About

thumbDSCF0027 Greetings!  My name is Henry Imler and this is my blog (as  I am sure you have guessed).  Modernism is dead and dying.  The Church is just now getting the memo.  This blog is an exploration of what we need to do next.

A little bit about myself?  My wife is Meredith Imler and my lil boy is Reed and they are the loves of my life.  I am a dedicated Christian Canonist who is exploring how to be a biblically faithful and post-conservative follower of Christ at Asbury Seminary (twitter) where I am working towards a Master of Arts in Theology.

I plan on getting my PhD from there in the field of Biblical Studies.  I recently graduated from the University of Missouri with a Master of Arts in Religious Studies (the study of how people are religious, not of how to be religious, which is what I am studying now).  My focus was in several areas: Early Christianity (non-patristic), Greco-Roman Religion, and Women in Religion.  My thesis attempted to unearth the lives of the people who wrote and consumed the Acts of Thomas in the Eastern edge of the Roman Empire.  You can read Husbands Scorned; Fathers Ignored: A Social Analysis of the Acts of Thomas if you like, but it will take you a while (it certainly took me a while to write it!).

You can find me on a couple of other places on the web:
